Grigor Pasha writes: One thing I learnt during my days in the merchant navy: it pays to keep good records.
And another: it pays to design those records so that you can retrieve information readily.
In the spirit, I have devised a simple pro forma that I use to help me record matches and plan the next.
I’m already finding that it’s paying dividends with regards to match planning. I find the process of collating information clarifying — and it means I have to keep less information in my head.
It also means I spend less time looking through my pending tray (Where did I put the report from Nikolov, our scout? and the one from Neykov, our anorak data analyst?)
Longer term, I’m expecting to find it helpful in terms of learning from the past. That’s the idea, any way.
I keep the pro forma here.
